Travelogue across Europe by a Punjabi girl

A travel and food columnist Puneetinder Kaur Sidhu has encapsulated her inexpensive travel experiences in Europe in her forthcoming travelogue, 'Adrift: A junket junkie in Europe'.

Literally adrift with little money to spare, she joins a car pool to travel across the continent.

In the initiative, car owners register with the official website offering contact and destination details, and number of seats available on the ride.

After the journey, the fare is arrived at by dividing the cost of fuel by number of passengers.

With endless possibilities staring her in the face, Puneetinder spends the next four months making her way down from Scandinavia, to the Netherlands, Germany, Hungary, Austria and France, some me-time in London before returning to base.

A travel and food columnist with a leading Indian newspaper, Puneetinder has been regularly contributing articles to travel magazines, airline magazines and national dailies for over 15 years.

She has also reviewed numerous human interest stories, with travel and food being her preferred genres.

Coupled with her own heightened wanderlust, she chose employment with Singapore Airlines, post-college to give wings to her passion. She has, since, travelled across Europe, South Africa, North America, Australia and South East Asia.

Since the past couple of years, she has focused entirely on exploring the charms within India, and her next book is centred on Himachal Pradesh. (ANI)
