'Mad Men' characters to be honoured with Barbie doll versions

It has emerged that the characters of dramatic television series 'Mad Men' are set to be honoured with Barbie and Ken doll versions by Mattel.

Don Draper, the advertising executive, and his wife Betty, along with Don's partner at the agency, Roger Sterling, and his former mistress, Joan Holloway, will all be made into dolls as part of a collectors' series for adults, reports the Telegraph.

Christina Henkricks, 34, who plays Joan, has already drawn comparisons with the classic American doll for her voluptuous figure.

The characters from the award-winning show, which follows the professional and personal lives of workers at a New York advertising agency in the 1960s, are notoriously scandal-prone, chain-smoking and drinking their way through a series of business problems and love affairs.

Their seedy lives are a sharp contrast to Barbie's clean image, and the dolls will be modelled more on the characters' looks than their actions.

The Mad Men dolls will come with period clothing accessories, but no martini glasses or cigarettes.

The new dolls will be priced just under 75 dollars and can be bought in doll shops or ordered online at amctv.com or barbiecollector.com. (ANI)
